Position
Cook's Assistant

Description
  1. Arrive no later than 8 p.m. the day your camp starts. (Adult Counselors, Special Activity Directors, Chiefs, Cooks). Jr Staff and CIT’s will train Tuesday at 9 a.m- two days before the first camp of the season begins through Thursday 2 pm. the day the first camp of the season begins. Everyone must attend the Staff Meeting with the Chief at 2 p.m. on Day 1.
  2. Do not pursue romantic relationships during camp as these will distract from our purpose and inhibit the team's effectiveness.
  3. To help avoid confusion or misunderstandings, girls minister to girls and guys minister to guys
  4. Must be at least 16 years of age or older.
  5. Attend (if you are 14-17 years of age) the three-day staff training in June. If you are 18 or older you must attend the required staff training the first day of camp as well as complete online/in person courses in First Aid and Mandatory Child Abuse Reporting.
  6. Submit to a background check. (Age 16 and older)
  7. Use your cell phone on Airplane mode only.  
  8. Arrive no later than 2 hours before the meals you will help with.
  9. Faithfully pray for all aspects of Tepee Bible Camp and for the times you will be in charge.
  10. Manifest a Christ-like attitude and behavior at all times.
  11. Strictly adhere to the Statement of Faith.
  12. Prayerfully prepare and be well grounded in the Word of God before coming to camp.
  13. Dress appropriately – no short shorts (must have at least a 5 in. inseam), no short skirts, midriffs, halter tops, shirts with spaghetti straps.
  14. Use your cell phone on Airplane mode only.
  15. If staying overnight: Bring a sleeping bag, pillow, toiletries, towel, wash cloth, Bible, flashlight, insect repellant, sun screen, jacket or sweatshirt, long pants, a hat, water bottle, sturdy shoes, and ample clothing for the week.
  16. Watch your example: your language, dress, how your time is spent, and especially your attitude. Do not complain in front of the campers and do not say anything unkind or derogatory about anyone.
  17. Always deal with discipline problems regarding staff or campers with another adult present. (Praying before disciplining is very helpful.)
  18. Arrive by Noon on opening day.
  19. Attend the staff meeting at noon on opening day.
  20. Clean your quarters when camp is over.

 

ASSIST THE COOK WITH THE FOLLOWING:

  1. Have meals prepared on time according to the camp schedule.
  2. Follow the prepared menu. Substitutions may be made with the director's permission and are to be noted on the menu posted in the kitchen.
  3. Fill out the meal count sheet in the 3-ring binder after each meal. (*)
  4. Pack all of the food for the cook-out and the hike. (*)
  5. Ring, or ask someone to ring the bell to announce that the meals are ready to be served. (*)
  6. Clean the kitchen and dining room thoroughly after each meal. (*) Follow the close down instructions on the corkboard in the kitchen before you leave on the last day of camp. (*)
  7. After each meal, wipe down with disinfectant all tables, benches, napkin holders (refill as needed), salt and pepper shakers, door knob on exterior door of dining room (north door), dish cabinet doors and hand holds, light switch plates.
  8. Sweep entire dining room floor after each meal – this means move everything off the floor except for book cases and cabinets.
  9. After Breakfast and Lunch spot mop any areas where spills have been or that are muddy on the dining room floor.
  10. After Supper completely mop the dining room.
  11. The kitchen floor must be swept and mopped after each meal.
  12. The kitchen sinks must be cleaned after each meal.
  13. The kitchen bathroom must be cleaned and swept and mopped every evening.
  14. The kitchen light switch plates and the phone, door knobs, refrigeration unit doors, freezer doors, must be wiped down with disinfectant every evening.
  15. Supervise the serving of the meal.
  16. Give clear instructions about dish washing, drying and where to put clean items to the counselor of each tepee so they can properly supervise the dish cleaning detail.

CRAFT LEADER JOB DESCRIPTION

  • If you plan to stay overnight or for the entire camp, please bring a sleeping bag, pillow, toiletries, towel, wash cloth, Bible, flashlight, insect repellant, sun screen, jacket or sweatshirt, long pants, a hat, water bottle, sturdy shoes, and ample clothing.
  • Watch your example: your language, dress, how your time is spent, and especially your attitude.

  • Conduct crafts in an orderly manner.
  • Junior counselors and other staff will be there to help you. Enlist other help as needed.
  • Prepare crafts and craft room well in advance of the craft time each day.
  • Follow and carry out the final clean up procedures of the craft house at the
    end of camp.
  • If staying at the camp, clean your quarters on the last day you are here.

Camp Chief Job Description

  • Arrive no later than 8 a.m. the day your camp starts. Everyone must attend the Staff Meeting with the Chief at 2 p.m. on Day 1.
  • Faithfully pray for all aspects of Tepee Bible Camp and for the times when you are leading.
  • Prayerfully prepare and be well grounded in the Word of God before coming to camp.
  • The Camp Chief can be male or female but must be 20 years of age for younger camps and 21 years of age or older for the 8-11th grade camps and family camp.
  • Submit to a background check.
  • Arrive by 8 a.m. the First Day of Camp.
  • Use your cell phone on Airplane mode only, except during drills and emergencies.
  • Manifest a Christ-like attitude and behavior at all times.
  • Strictly adhere to the Statement of Faith.
  • Prayerfully prepare and be well grounded in the Word of God before coming to camp.
  • Submit any first-aid certifications you have and any online course certificates for classes the director has asked you to complete so they may be copied and placed in your volunteer file.
  • Be prepared and on time for all camp activities.
  • Dress appropriately – no short shorts (must have at least a 5 in. inseam), no short skirts, midriffs, halter tops, shirts with spaghetti straps. Bring long pants, a long-sleeved shirt or jacket, a hat, a water bottle, and sturdy shoes for the National Forest hike.
  • Bring a sleeping bag, pillow, toiletries, towel, wash cloth, Bible, flashlight, insect repellant, sun screen, and ample clothing for the week.
  • Do not pursue romantic relationships during camp as these will distract from our purpose and inhibit team effectiveness.
  • To help avoid confusion or misunderstandings, girls minister to girls and guys minister to guys.
  • Show leadership qualities as Christ did with His disciples.
  • The camp chief must be present and seated in an area where they can see all campers and staff at one of each morning’s Bible lessons, and at all worship times and missionary lessons.
  • Execute the following duties:

 

  1.  Meet with all workers at 2:00 pm the day camp starts. Go over any changes in the policy manual, your expectations as a leader and any other important items given to you by the Director. (You only have 1 hour to complete this task so please start on time!)
  2.   Be available to greet all parents as they arrive, then make sure the appropriate counselor comes to the registration area to help the camper and parents carry the camper's belongings to the designated tepee.
  3.  Announce ALL camp rules at first camper meeting and after all campers have seen the Medicine Man/Woman. Make sure to explain the fire and flood drills as stated in the policy manual.  Introduce all staff. 
  4.  It will be up to you to lead ALL camp meetings.
  5. Meet with counselors in the morning for devotions you have selected prior to the beginning of camp.  Praise and reprimand their efforts as needed.
  6.  Enforce ALL rules for campers.
  7.  Keep counselors and counselors-in-training accountable in their walk with the Lord.
  8. Consult the camp director if any questions arise.
  9. Promote an atmosphere open to sharing at the campfire and take control as needed.
  10. Co-Lead the National Forest hike if needed.
  11. Lead the ‘Life’s Trail Hike’ on Tuesday (or delegate this to a responsible person).
  12. Take charge or delegate responsibilities.
  13. Assign a Jr. Staff member (if possible, someone not related to any of the campers) to be the week’s scorekeeper.
  14. Take charge of the Barnyard Olympics and recruit help as needed.
  15. Assign bathroom clean-up for the day every morning at breakfast.
  16.  An announcement MUST be made every morning at breakfast that any campers who visited the Medicine Man/Woman for illness or injury the day before MUST see the Medicine Man/Woman immediately following breakfast.
  17. Assign dining room clean up duty to tepees at each meal.
  18. Give the signal when groups need to move in the morning rotation.
  19. Announce a “grounds clean up” around the Trading Post at 3:30. He/she may decide to give points to tepees for each piece of trash picked up.
  20.  Assign a final clean-up of worship house, girls/boys bathrooms, Eat’Um House and all grounds to tepees.
  21. Make sure all quarters are cleaned at the end of camp.
  22. Sign off on ALL camper forms after you have checked the tepees and after the camper and counselor have signed them; do NOT let a camper leave until his/her parents have been to the office to check them out with camp director (this is a serious safety issue).
  23. When giving hugs always give sideways hugs (This is for your own protection).
  24. Give encouragement to all staff whenever possible.
  25. Clean your quarters when camp is over.

PLEASE NOTE: Not for any reason will the chief hold the daily staff meeting during the morning rotation time or during the evening worship/missionary time. Daily staff meetings must be held in the morning from 6:30-7:00.

Archery Instructor

Job Description for Archery Instructor

  1. Make sure the Archery Rules are current and displayed and taught.

Rules are:

  1. Post whistle commands before beginning.
  2. Hang bows between the ready and shooting line, out of reach.
  3. Instruct archers not to dryfire any bows.
  4. No one is to cross the ready line and or the shooting line until the command is given.
  5. No one is to cross the shooting line until all arrows are in the quiver and bows hung up.
  6. No running or horseplay on the range.
  7. Before starting instructor must look behind targets and back stop to make sure no one is there.
  8. Before starting make sure everyone knows what the emergency stop command is: 5 or more whistles.
  9. After emergency stop signal is given, stop shooting (even if already drawn) return arrows to quiver and hang up bows then every must assemble at the ready line.
  10. Archers do not cross the ready line until given the command to.
  11. Have archers put bows on toes with bows facing downrange on shooting line until the command to shoot is given.
  12. Ensure arrows are ALWAYS pointed downrange.
  13. After shooting have archers put up bows and return to the ready line.
  14. Don’t give the command to retrieve arrows until all shooting is complete and bows put up.
  15. Ensure no one stands behind a person while they are pulling their arrows.
  16. Ensure all points of arrows are covered with your hand while walking, as you would a pair of scissors.

 

  1. Obtain certifications in CPR/First Aid and take the online Mandatory Child Abuse Reporting class You must also have either a letter recommending you as the Archery leader by someone who has observed your ability to teach and lead Archery or proof you have a current Archery Instructor Credential- (BAI)
  2. Submit to a background check.
  3. While on the camp property Use your cell phone on Airplane mode only except for emergency situations.
  4. Faithfully pray for all aspects of Tepee Bible Camp and for the times when you are leading.

  8. Arrive at the camp in plenty of time to set up the archery area with all archery equipment and archery rules poster.
  9. Dress appropriately- (shorts must have at least a 5 in. inseam)
  10. If you plan to spend the night at camp please bring: a sleeping bag, pillow, toiletries, towel, wash cloth, Bible, flashlight, insect repellant, sun screen, jacket or sweatshirt, long pants, a hat, water bottle, sturdy shoes, and ample clothing.
  11. Thoroughly prepare and carry out the Archery time
  12. Ensure the safety of all campers during Archery.
  13. Be responsible for the care of all equipment.
  14. Clean up or assign staff to clean up after each archery time.
  15. Clean quarters at the end of your stay.

JOB DESCRIPTION FOR RECREATION DIRECTOR AND HELPERS:

  1. Director must be age 18 or older for the grade 2-4 camp and 21 years of age or older for all other camps.
  2. Complete the online/in person courses in First Aid/ CPR/AED (Rec. Director Only) First Aid (Helpers only) and Mandatory Child Abuse Reporting (Director Only)
  3. Submit to a background check if 18 years of age or older
  4. Use your cell phone on Airplane mode only except in emergencies.
  5. Attend the first staff meeting 2 p.m. p.m. the first day of Camp, unless you are the Rec Director not staying the entire camp.
  6. Serve 2 hours (2-4 pm.) on days 2 and 3 of the Chippy Camp and during Barnyard Olympics of Day 4. If you serve at Puma or Eagle Camps you will serve 2-4 p.m. on day 2 and 3 of each camp and from 10-Noon on day 4 of each camp with the exception of the Nat’l Forest Hike day during the weeks that activity is held.
  7. Faithfully pray for each camper in their tepee and for the camp as a whole.
  8. Manifest a Christ-like attitude and behavior at all times.
  9. Maintain Spiritual health and relationship with God through Jesus Christ by devotions, etc.
  10. Strictly adhere to the doctrinal statement of the camp.
  11. Dress appropriately – no short shorts (must have at least a 5 in. inseam), no short skirts, midriffs, halter tops, shirts with spaghetti straps. Bring long pants, a long-sleeved shirt or jacket, a hat, a water bottle, and sturdy shoes for the National Forest hike.

*Note: Feel free to assign part or all of the tasks marked with an asterisk (*) to any kitchen help staff member you judge able to handle it. If a task has to do with cleaning, please closely supervise any junior staff you assign to that task- go back and check their work before releasing them to go to their next assigned job or break time.

JOB DESCRIPTION FOR JR. STAFF POSITIONS

NOTE:  You may be asked to do one or more of these jobs on a rotating basis throughout the week. You will be trained how to do all of them at staff training and will be assisted  by those in charge of each area so you can be successful in each job.

 

FOR ALL JOBS:

  1. Must be 14 years of age or older by the first day of the first camp of the year you wish to volunteer.
  2. Attend the 2.5 day Jr. Staff training held in June as well as complete courses in First Aid and Fire Safety.
  3. Submit to a background check if 16 yrs. of age or older.
  4. Use your cell phone on Airplane mode only.
  5. Arrive no later than 8 a.m. on the day your volunteer time begins.
  6. Attend the 2:00 p.m. staff meeting the day camp begins.
  7. Faithfully pray for all aspects of Tepee Bible Camp and for the times when you are working.
  8. Manifest a Christ-like attitude and behavior at all times.
  9. Strictly adhere to the camp statement of faith.
  10. Prayerfully prepare and be well grounded in the Word of God before coming to camp.
  11. Dress appropriately - no short shorts (must have at least a 5 in. inseam), no short skirts, midriffs, halter tops, shirts with spaghetti straps. Bring long pants, a long-sleeved shirt or jacket, a hat, a water bottle and sturdy shoes for the hike.

  17. Clean your quarters at the end of camp following the final cleaning procedures listed on the bathroom door of your quarters.

 

Kitchen Crew

  1. Abide by the descriptions for "ALL JOBS" as well as the following:
  2. Assist the cook in preparation, serving, & cleaning up.
  3. Assist with decorations prior to the Birthday meal at noon on Thursday.
  4. Help to create a fun atmosphere.
  5. Show respect for all staff, especially the cook.
  6. After each meal, wipe down with disinfectant all tables, benches, napkin holders (refill as needed), salt and pepper shakers, door knob on exterior door of dining room (north door), dish cabinet doors and hand holds, light switch plates.
  7. Sweep entire dining room floor after each meal – this means move everything off the floor except for book cases and cabinets.
  8. After Breakfast and Lunch spot mop any areas where spills have been or that are muddy on the dining room floor.
  9. After Supper completely mop the dining room.
  10. The kitchen floor must be swept and mopped after each meal.
  11. The kitchen sinks must be cleaned after each meal.
  12. The kitchen bathroom must be cleaned and swept and mopped every evening.
  13. The kitchen light switch plates and the phone, door knobs, refrigeration unit doors, freezer doors, must be wiped down with disinfectant every evening.
  14. Assist in final clean-up of the Kitchen at the end of camp.

 

Recreation Helpers

  1. Abide by the descriptions for "ALL JOBS" as well as the following:
  2. Help the recreation director(s) prepare and carry out the recreation and activity time.
  3. Ensure the safety of all campers during games and activities.
  4. Be responsible for the care of all equipment.
  5. Put away all equipment and clean up when recreation or activity time is over.
  6. Show respect for all staff, especially the Recreation Director(s).

 

Worship Team

  1. Abide by the descriptions for "ALL JOBS" as well as the following:
  2. Follow pre-planned worship activities or plan and prepare all worship activities in keeping with the camp theme as much as possible.
  3. Create an atmosphere of meaningful worship.
  4. Show respect for the worship house, all staff, especially the Bible Teacher.

 

Craft Helpers

  1. Abide by the descriptions for “All JOBS” as well as the following:
  2. Help conduct craft time in an orderly manner.
  3. When asked to do so, help prepare the craft room for the day’s craft activities.
  4. Assist young campers with their projects as needed.
  5. Follow and carry out the final clean up procedures for the craft house at the end of camp.
  6. Show respect for all staff especially the Craft Leader(s).

 

Trading Post Workers

  1. Abide by the descriptions for “ALL JOBS” as well as the following:
  2. Keep the inside of the trading post cleaned up and remind campers and counselors to pick up their trash before leaving the area.
  3. Re-stock the refrigerator and candy counters and fill out the inventory card at the end of each trading post time.
  4. Keep the account cards current with the amount of non-food money left written on the right side of the card after each non-food purchase.
  5. Turn the inventory card in at 4 pm. each day so the director can purchase any items that are running low.
  6. Wipe down all the counters and the refrigerator door and handle with Clorox wipes. Make sure all trash inside the trading post is placed in the trash bag. When that bag is full bring it out to the large outside trash can.
  7. Vacuum after each trading post hour.
  8. Conduct a “grounds clean up” checking for any trash the campers may have missed during their clean up.
  9. Turn in any money received to the camp director each day. This should only happen if we have visitors or if the camp doctor or missionary purchase any items.
  10. Take the inventory card to the Chief at Braves and Maids Hour in the Worship House. If the chief is not available the card can be “push pinned” to the bulletin board by the serving line in the kitchen.
  11. Give all the account cards to the camp director after the last trading post time of the week.
  12. Show respect for all staff.

COUNSELOR JOB DESCRIPTION

  1. Faithfully pray for all aspects of Tepee Bible Camp and for the times when you are leading.
  2. Bring a sleeping bag, sleeping mat or narrow air mattress, pillow, toiletries, towel, wash cloth, Bible, Pen, small notebook, flashlight, insect repellant, sun screen, and ample clothing for the week.
  3. Prayerfully prepare and be well grounded in the Word of God before coming to camp.
  4. Be prepared and on time for all camp activities.
  5. To help avoid confusion or misunderstandings, girls minister to girls and guys minister to guys
  6. Must be a high school graduate age 17 or older. 16 year-olds who have been a CIT for 1 year may be used as counselors for Chippy Camps.
  7. Attend the required staff training the first day of camp as well as complete online/in person courses in First Aid and Mandatory Child Abuse Reporting.
  8. Submit to a background check if you are 18 yrs. of age or older.
  9. Use your cell phone on Airplane mode only except in emergency situations.
  10. Arrive no later than 8 a.m. on the first day of each camp to attend Staff Training.
  11. Attend the 2 p.m. Staff meeting on opening day of each camp you will be working.
  12. Faithfully pray for each camper in their tepee and for the camp as a whole.
  13. Manifest a Christ-like attitude and behavior at all times.
  14. Maintain Spiritual health and relationship with God through Jesus Christ by devotions, etc.
  15. Strictly adhere to the doctrinal statement of the camp.
  16. Dress appropriately – no short shorts (must have at least a 5 in. inseam), no short skirts, midriffs, halter tops, shirts with spaghetti straps. Bring long pants, a long-sleeved shirt or jacket, a hat, a water bottle, and sturdy shoes for the National Forest hike.
  17. Bring a sleeping bag, pillow, toiletries, towel, wash cloth, Bible, Pen, small notebook, flashlight, insect repellant, sun screen, and ample clothing for the week.
  18. Learn your camper’s names. Greet them and their parents as they arrive.
  19. Interview your campers during the week through the counselor-one-on-one interview sheet.
  20. Hold devotions in your tepee each morning and evening.
  21. Attend all staff meetings. Bring a battery-operated alarm clock so you can be on time in the morning.
  22. Sr. guy counselors will take their 30-45 min. break when announced by the Chief. Sr. girl counselors will take a separate 30-45 min. break when announced by the Chief.
  23. All Sr. Counselors will take their afternoon 30 min. break from 3:05 to 3:35 except for Nat’l Forest Hike day. They will take their trading post items with them and dispose of any trash from those items in a proper receptacle.
  24. At least one boy and one girl Sr. Counselor must station themselves near the bath house during the shower time from 3:35-4:00. (You can rotate this duty with other Sr. Counselors)
  25. Sr. Counselors must be present and seated with the campers in their tepee at all Bible lessons, worship times and missionary lessons. Each Counselor must print out 5 questions and their answers from each lesson and give these to the chief for Bible Quiz time.
  26. Accompany your group of campers on Life's Trail Hike (all grades) and the Nat’l Forest Hike (grades 5-12).
  27. Be cooperative with all other members of the camp staff.
  28. Talk to each one of your campers about their salvation and walk with the Lord individually during each camp.
  29. Consciously care for the health and safety of their campers.
  30. Be responsible to the Chief. Their directions are to be followed to the letter.
  31. Act like an adult at all times. Keep the proper relationship with the campers.
  32. Spend as much free time as possible with your campers. We are here to minister to them, be available to do anything with them. There will be other times to socialize with the staff.
  33. Enforce the camper rules consistently.
  34. Strictly enforce quiet hours. Do not send campers out after lights out except to go to the bathroom. No camper should go alone to the bathroom at night. (Natural predators may be out at night.)
  35. Know where your campers are at all times (count them). Only the counselor will go look for a camper if they are not present at an activity. Be sure your campers are at all scheduled events and meetings.
  36. Monitor the showers, making sure no “horse play” is taking place. Make sure your campers remove their belongings from the shower house and pick up any trash before they leave the building.
  37. Sit with your tepee at all meetings and meal times except the birthday meal.
  38. Do not pursue boy-girl relationships with other counselors or staff, your primary responsibility is to serve the campers, remember you are the one who volunteered.
  39. Participate in all activities your tepee is asked to do, including Bible Classes, Missionary Hour, Recreation, Games, Hikes, etc.
  40. Watch your example: Your language, dress, how your time is spent, and especially your attitude. Do not complain in front of the campers and do not say anything unkind or derogatory about anyone.
  41. Govern the camper’s conduct inside the tepee at all times of the day. Order must be kept in a loving way.
  42. During tepee clean-up make sure everyone helps out. Don’t be lax. Tepees will be inspected. Assist your tepee in clean-up and help them choose a theme for their design each day. Younger children will need you to actively participate in constructing the design.
  43. Encourage Bible Study, Scripture memorization, etc. during rest hour. Make it a meaningful time.
  44. Ensure your tepee is quiet when it is time for “Lights Out”.
  45. Do your part at the campfire to promote an atmosphere of fun and sharing what Christ has done through the week in the camper’s life. This can be the most important time, spiritually speaking, during the whole camp.
  46. Oversee your tepee and help them with clean up in the dining room.
  47. Make sure any ill camper is taken to the camp medical person as soon as possible.
  48. Accompany any injured camper to the medical person, making sure the rest of your tepee is being supervised by another adult before you walk the camper to the medical office.

JOB DESCRIPTION FOR COUNSELORS IN TRAINING

  • Arrive no later than 8 p.m. the day your camp starts. (Adult Counselors, Special Activity Directors, Chiefs, Cooks). Jr Staff and CIT’s will train Tuesday at 9 a.m- two days before the first camp of the season begins through Thursday 2 pm. the day the first camp of the season begins. Everyone must attend the Staff Meeting with the Chief at 2 p.m. on Day 1.
  • Must be 15 years of age or older.
  • Attend (if you are age 14-17) the 3 day required staff training in June as well as complete online/in person courses in First Aid and Mandatory Child Abuse Reporting.
  • Submit to a background check if you are 16 yrs. of age or older.
  • Use your cell phone on Airplane mode only. If you misuse your cell phone while at camp it will be removed from your possession and kept in the camp safe until the end of camp.
  • Faithfully pray for all aspects of Tepee Bible Camp and for the times when you are leading.
  •  Manifest a Christ-like attitude and behavior at all times.
  • Strictly adhere to the camp Statement of Faith.
  • Prayerfully prepare and be well grounded in the Word of God before coming to camp.

  • Have your personal devotions during the tepee clean-up and design time.
  • Be cooperative with all other members of the camp staff.
  • Be ready to answer questions about God and salvation.
  • Encourage good behavior from all campers, giving compliments and high-fives as often as possible.
  • Consciously care for the health and safety of all campers.
  • Be responsible to the Sr. Counselor and the Chief. Their directions are to be followed to the letter.
  • When giving campers hugs, give "side hugs".
  • Enforce the camper rules.
  • Dress appropriately - no short shorts (must have at least a 5-inch inseam), no short skirts, midriffs, halter tops, or shirts with spaghetti straps. Bring long pants, a long-sleeved shirt or jacket, a hat, a water bottle, and sturdy shoes for the hike.
  • Bring a sleeping bag, pillow, toiletries, towel, wash cloth, Bible, Pen, small notebook, flashlight, insect repellant, sun screen, and ample clothing for the week.
  • Strictly enforce curfew. Lights out in staff quarters is 10:30 p.m.
  • Sit with your tepee at all meetings and meal times except the birthday meal, then be ready to sit at any table that doesn't have a senior counselor or adult staff member at their table.
  • Participate in all activities you are assigned to. Including attending Bible classes, missionary hour, recreation, games, hikes, braves and maids hour, etc. whenever you have free time.
  • Watch your example: your language, dress, how your time is spent, and especially your attitude. Do not complain in front of the campers and do not say anything unkind or derogatory about anyone.
  • Govern the camper's conduct inside the tepee during rest hour. Order must be kept in a loving way.
  • DO NOT HESITATE to ask the senior counselor or any adult staff member for help if you feel you have lost control of a situation. No one will judge you for this, on the contrary, we will be proud of you for doing so.
  • Encourage Bible study, scripture memorization etc. during rest hour. Make it a meaningful time. Skit practice can be done at this time, but please make sure the campers are not disturbing other tepees.
  • Be ready to watch your tepee for the senior counselor if a camper becomes ill and needs to be taken to the medical person.
  • Assist the craft leader during your tepee's craft time by helping campers with their craft as well as keeping order in the craft house. If your tepee finishes early, be ready to take them to an area away from the worship house to play a game or practice a skit.

  • Strictly adhere to the doctrine of Tepee Bible Camp.
  • Do not pursue romantic relationships during camp as these will distract from our purpose and inhibit the team's effectiveness.
  • Submit to a background check. 
  • The medical person must be at least 18 years of age and one of the following: a Licensed Physician, a Registered Nurse, a Licensed Practical Nurse, a Licensed Physician's Assistant, a Certified Nursing Assistant, a School Nurse, or a Staff Member who holds a current American Red Cross Emergency Response Certificate. Any health care provider other than a Licensed Physician, Registered Nurse, or Licensed Practical Nurse must hold a current CPR/First Aid AED certificate.
  • Manifest a Christ-like attitude and behavior at all times.
  • Prayerfully prepare and be well grounded in the Word of God before coming to camp.
  • If staying the entire camp, you must arrive no later than 8 a.m. the first day of camp, and attend the 2 p.m. staff meeting. (When you apply for this position, please speak with the Director if you think you will be unable to stay for the entire duration.)
  • Dress appropriately - no short shorts (must have at least a 5 in. inseam), no short skirts, midriffs, halter tops, shirts with spaghetti straps. Bring long pants, a long-sleeved shirt or jacket, a hat, a water bottle, and sturdy shoes for the hike.
  • Please bring the following: a sleeping bag, pillow, toiletries, towel, wash cloth, Bible, Pen, small notebook, flashlight, insect repellant, sun screen, jacket or sweatshirt and ample clothing for the week.
  • Watch your example: your language, dress, how your time is spent, and especially your attitude. Do not complain in front of the campers and do not say anything unkind or derogatory about anyone.
  • Submit your RN, LPN, or other credentials to the director to be copied for Camp records.
  • Whenever possible, while treating campers for an illness or injury, keep the solid door to the Medicine Man's office open.
  • Lovingly care for the injured and sick.
  • Immediately notify the director if a child is going to be sent home or if a child needs to be transported to the hospital.
  • Notify the camp director immediately and the parent or guardian if/when their child is injured or ill.
  • Be available to care for the campers at all times.
  • Disinfect any areas in the infirmary or isolation room after each use by campers.
  • Be the final authority on the handling of injuries and illness.
  • Complete all online training sent to you from the Camp Director before coming to camp and bring the certificates of completion for those training classes with you. A copy of these will be placed in your file and the originals returned to you.
  • Check all campers for illness upon their arrival the first day of camp.
  • Judge the tepees for cleanliness and design.
  • Prepare injured or ill campers for transport to medical facilities when needed. The director will transport.
  • Fill out incident reports for injuries or illness so that they can be kept for camp records and insurance purposes.
  • Carry the first aid kit for the hikes.
  • Clean your quarters at the end of camp.
